Jesús Vela desarrolla su investigación en el seno del grupo “Tecnología química de la separación y detección”, perteneciente al Instituto de Carboquímica del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. Su campo de investigación se basa, principalmente, en la implementación de nuevas técnicas y métodos de análisis para la separación y cuantificación de productos pesados en mezclas complejas procedentes de combustibles fósiles (carbón y petróleo) y la aplicación de la fluorescencia inducida a sistemas cromatográficos para el análisis de moléculas no fluorescentes (polímeros, antibióticos, lípidos, hidrocarburos saturados)
Jesus Vela develops its research tasks in the group "Chemical technologies of separation and detection," at the Coal Chemistry Institute of Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). His research is mainly based on the implementation of new techniques and methodologies of analysis for the separation, detection and quantification of heavy products in complex mixtures from fossil fuels (petroleum and coal) and the application of induced fluorescence to chromatographic systems for analysis of non-fluorescent molecules (polymers, antibiotics, lipids, saturated hydrocarbons)
